Discussions were held about various Inter-Departmental Issues related to the Projects
The Series of meetings continues to clear the hurdles in the approval process for Compressed Biogas (CBG) and City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects in Chandigarh province. Minister Aman Arora on April 1 held discussions with officials of the Department of Forests, Wildlife and Local Government to develop a mechanism to make the approval process hassle-free and time-bound.
New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister of Punjab Aman Arora and Local Government Minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar presided over the meeting. An in-principle decision was also taken to review the annual rental amount for laying pipelines. They also discussed various inter-departmental issues related to the projects during a meeting with Finance Commissioner Forest and Wildlife Development Garg and other officials of the department. It was also decided to reduce the time limit for granting forest clearance for projects.
Aman Arora emphasized that for the convenience of investors, the fees charged by different departments should be collected at the same place. He instructed Director PEDA (Punjab Energy Development Agency) to prepare a list of pending CBG and CGD projects with various departments and send them to the concerned departments by next week so that the approval process can be speeded up. He said that the state's working group of all partners will soon be formed to formulate the policy and the group will submit its report by the end of April.

Maheshwaran, GA- Head Gujarat Gas Limited Mahendra Dha Dubey, Project Manager Thind Green Energy Private Limited Gaurav Kathpal and Project Head EverEnviro Resource Management Private Limited Pankaj Kumar were also present.
