Gobind Singh Longowal also supported Giani Harpreet Singh's appointment as President.
Amritsar: Former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has been unanimously elected as President of the Shiromani Akali Dal by the delegates of the recruitment committee. On the other hand, Bibi Satwant Kaur has been appointed Chairperson of the Panthak Council.
In the meantime, Sarbjot Singh Bedi proposed the name of Giani Harpreet Singh for the position of new president for the rebel faction.

Likewise, Gobind Singh Longowal also supported Giani Harpreet Singh's appointment as President.
