
Raipur: Seven naxals, including a woman,
were arrested from three different places in insurgency-hit
Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh, police said today.
The cadres were apprehended yesterday during the
search operations by separate joint teams of security forces,
Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla told PTI.
The personnel belonging to Indo Tibetan Border Police
(ITBP), District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force
(STF), Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and district force were
involved in these operations, he said.
While three naxals identified as Jaitram Kashyap (30),
Mandiram (35) and Manaji Katlami (26) were arrested from
Irpanar village forest, two others - Budhram Wadde (40) and
Sonaru alias Gadge Wadde (45) were held from Gumiyabeda-Kotnar
forest, he said.
Besides, two more rebels identified as Laluram Usendi
(50) and Jhankai Katlam (19) were arrested from Orchha police
station area, he said.
They were active as members of janmilitia and janatana
sarkar squad of Maoists and allegedly tasked with arranging
meetings of naxals, conducting recce for them, damaging public
property, putting up pamphlets, posters and banners and
planting explosives to harm the security forces, he added.
