Poster engaged in protest against Supreme Court's decision on cracker sales

In the Delhi-NCR, there are some posters pasted on the walls in the streets of Delhi on Monday morning resisting against the decision of Supreme Court to ban the sale of firecrackers. The question of the cracker ban in the posters has been questioned. It is not known who has posted these posters.

The name of the protesters in the posters is written in 'Janata of Delhi'. Posters of the cracker ban on Patel Chowk Metro Station, ITO and Ashok Road were erected on Monday morning in Delhi. One of these has been written on, "IIT Kanpur's report says that more pollution than firecrackers is from other sources. You could only see crackers. ' At the end of the poster, the name of the person who wrote was given 'People of Delhi'. 


Traders body CAIT today asked the government to compensate the losses of firecracker sellers here who have been forced to discontinue sale following the Supreme Court's order. Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said that about Rs 500 crore worth of stocks are held with traders here.

"Firecracker traders in Delhi have been put to huge losses with no fault of theirs," it said in a statement. Traders were issued licences by the competent authority to sell firecrackers and accordingly they procured stocks, but due to the court's order sellers are facing losses, it added.

The Supreme Court this week refused to relax the ban on the sale of firecrackers in Delhi and the national capital region till October 31, well after the Diwali festival.
