
New Delhi: The Delhi Police arrested an
alleged member of an international gang involved in pumping
fake Indian currency notes into the country from New Delhi's
Anand Vihar inter-state bus terminus.
The police seized 330 fake notes in denomination of Rs
2,000 from him. Based on a tipoff, a team of Special Cell
arrested Kashid, 54, near the ISBT on November 16, said PK
Kushwah, DCP (Special Cell).
"High quality FICN numerically amounting to Rs 6.60 lakh
were recovered from him. 250 of the recovered FICN bear a
single serial number and other 80 are also of only four serial
number," Kushwah said.
The arrested accused was wanted in a similar case
registered by the Special Cell.
He was involved with the fake currency racket for the
past 15 years and was a member of an international gang that
routed FICN from Malda in West Bengal, to other parts of the
country including Delhi, UP and Bihar, the officer said.
