Noida: A district court today sentenced a man to four years of rigorous
imprisonment for trying to rape a deranged woman on the footpath in
2014.
The court held Ajay guilty of attempting to rape the deranged woman under Section 354 of the IPC, the prosecution said.
The incident had occurred on March 19, 2014. Ajay tried to rape the
deranged woman on the footpath near his house. Hearing her screams, a
few men rushed to the spot and caught hold of him.
Later, an FIR was registered at the Noida Phase 2 police station.
