Fire breaks out behind Western Court in Lutyens' Delhi

A fire broke out today at a vacant plot located in the back-alley of Western Court situated on Janpath Road here. A call was received at 4.28 PM about the fire in some furniture kept at a plot behind the colonial-era landmark, said a senior officer from the Delhi Fire Services

New Delhi: A fire broke out today at a vacant plot located in the back-alley of Western Court situated on Janpath Road here.     A call was received at 4.28 PM about the fire in some furniture kept at a plot behind the colonial-era landmark, said a senior officer from the Delhi Fire Services.     Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and operation was still underway, the official said.     The exact cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, he added.     The British-era building was, however, not immediately affected by the blaze.
