Sources said that a notice was issued to the actor, according to which, he could present his defense before the special director of the ED. “We will hear what he has to say,” said a senior ED officer.

Khan is being probed in connection with alleged violations in the sale of around five million shares of Knight Riders Sports Pvt Ltd (KRSPL), a franchise owned by his company Red Chillies Entertainment, to a Mauritius-based company owned by Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla’s husband Jay Mehta.

Chawla, too, is being probed in this connection. The agency has alleged a loss of Rs 73.6 crore in foreign exchange.
