PM Modi to Inaugurate Global Entertainment Summit in Mumbai latest news: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the first-ever World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 in Mumbai on this Thursday. The four-day conference, having a theme of "Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries," aims to position India as a world leader in media, entertainment, and digital innovation.
The summit will be attended by creators, startups, business leaders, and policymakers from across the globe. It will highlight India's capabilities in movies, web series, gaming, comics, digital content, artificial intelligence, etc. WAVES is likely to enable India to access a $50 billion market by 2029 and enhance its position in the world entertainment economy.
One of the biggest attractions of WAVES 2025 is the Global Media Dialogue (GMD), which will have the participation of 25 nations' ministers. The WAVES Bazaar, a worldwide market platform bridging more than 6,100 buyers and 5,200 sellers, will also be present.
PM Modi will go to the Creatosphere, where he will meet creators from the "Create in India Challenges," which had garnered more than one lakh enrollments. He will also visit the Bharat Pavilion, which will exhibit India's industrial and cultural success.
The summit will feature more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 content creators, and 350 startups from 90 nations. It will feature 42 plenary sessions, 39 breakout sessions, and 32 masterclasses on issues such as broadcasting, infotainment, and digital media.
Maharashtra Industry Minister Uday Samant highlighted Mumbai as the hub of Indian cinema and a destination for foreign investment. He stated the event is an opportunity to present Maharashtra's culture, industry, and tourism globally.
Veteran actors, producers, and CEOs of 120 global companies will also be present, making WAVES 2025 a milestone event for India's entertainment industry.
