Mother Dairy has increased liquid milk prices by up to Rupees 2 per litre, effective Wednesday attributing the hike to increase in procurement cost.

"Mother Dairy is constrained to revise the consumer price of its liquid milk by up to Rs. 2 per litre, effective from April 30, 2025. This price revision has been necessitated to address the significant increase in procurement costs, which have gone up by Rs. 4 - 5 per litre over the past few months. The surge in procurement prices is primarily driven by early onset of summer and heatwave conditions," a Mother Dairy spokesperson is quoted as saying.

"We remain committed to ensuring the consistent availability of quality milk to consumers while supporting the livelihoods of our farmers," he said.

The price of bulk vended toned milk has been raised from rupees 54 to rupees 56 per litre.
Full cream milk will now be available at rupees 69 per litre, up from the previous price of rupees 68. Cow milk will cost rupees 57 per litre, an increase from rupees 56, while the price of double-toned milk has been revised to rupees 51 per litre from the earlier rate of rupees 49.

Mother Dairy sources milk from 10 lakh farmers in 12 states and sells it via 4 lakh retail outlets across India. It supplies about 35 lakh litres daily in Delhi-NCR. The price hike is a partial adjustment to rising costs, balancing farmer and consumer interests.
