New Delhi: Women wrestlers are staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar demanding the arrest of WFI President and Member of Parliament Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Today is the 7th day of the protest. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also reached Jantar Mantar. She said that till now the copy of the FIR has not been received. The question is why the government is saving Brij Bhushan?.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra interacted with Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia. She stayed at the protest site for about an hour and interacted for 50 minutes. Vinesh and Sakshi got emotional during conversation. Brij Bhushan in UP claimed that he is completely innocent and will not resign as a criminal.

Prior to this, two FIRs have been registered against Brij Bhushan in Delhi's Connaught Place Police Station on Friday late night. Delhi Police has registered a case under the POCSO Act against Brij Bhushan in the case of sexual exploitation of a minor wrestler. Along with this, the second FIR has been registered on the charges of sexual harassment of 6 more female wrestlers.

After meeting the wrestlers, Priyanka Gandhi said, "No one knows that an FIR has been registered. Why are they not showing this? We all tweet when these wrestlers clinches medals. Today, they are sitting on the road. They are not getting justice. All these women wrestlers struggle a lot to reach this stage and I do not understand why the government is protecting Brij Bhushan. There are such serious allegations against Brij Bhushan, but no action is being taken. The government should remove him from the post. He should resign."

Priyanka added, "I have no hope from the Prime Minister, because if he is concerned about the wrestlers then why hasn't he spoken to them yet. The country stands with the players. I am proud that wrestlers are standing and raising their voice for such a cause."
