Unseasonal Rain and Lightning Wreak Havoc, Union Home Minister Amit Shah Assures Relief Efforts
Gujarat Lightning News: In an unfortunate turn of events, at least 24 individuals lost their lives due to unseasonal rain and lightning strikes in various regions of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The toll includes 20 casualties in Gujarat within the past 24 hours, with reports emerging of the adverse impact on local communities.
Expressing condolences, Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed his grief and affirmed that local administrations are actively engaged in relief operations to aid affected areas.
The inclement weather has not only claimed lives but has also disrupted normal life and inflicted substantial damage to crops. The Indian Meteorological Department anticipates a reduction in rainfall on Monday, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the distressing situation.
According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), fatalities have been reported from multiple districts, including Dahod, Bharuch, Tapi, Ahmedabad, Amreli, Banaskantha, Botad, Khera, Mehsana, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Surat, Surendranagar, and Devbhumi Dwarka. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, four individuals, including a husband and wife, met a tragic fate, while a young boy sustained serious injuries due to lightning strikes.
