Weather Latest Update: Dense fog has descended upon several states in North India, including Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana, disrupting normal life and causing delays in train services. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports heavy fog in Delhi, NCR, and various other cities, impacting visibility and leading to delays in train schedules.

Rail Traffic Hit

The Northern Railway has reported disruptions in train services, with 14 trains being affected due to the dense fog in the national capital. Trains arriving late in Delhi include well-known services like Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express, Howrah-New Delhi Purva Express, and Allahabad-New Delhi Prayagraj, among others. The Chief Public Relations Officer stated that the delays are attributed to low visibility caused by the dense fog.

Weather Impact

According to IMD data, the minimum temperature across most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh ranged between 6-10 degrees. Similar conditions were observed in Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of North India. The chilly weather and reduced visibility due to fog have not only disrupted rail services but also affected general life and traffic in the region.
