Flight operations at the Chandigarh International Airport resumedFlightThe domestic flight was started in the country from Monday after two months.

Civil Surgeon of Ludhiana Dr. Rajesh Bagga said that 116 samples were taken on Monday, out of which 114 were reported and one of them was found positive.

Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Agarwal said that the patients infected with the coronavirus are residents of Delhi and work as security personnel in Air India. He arrived at Sahnewal Airport on May 25 on a domestic flight.

CoronavirusCoronavirusInfected patients have been referred to local quarantine centres while others have been sent home for quarantine. In addition, a passenger 'corona' was found positive on IndiGo's Chennai-Coimbatore flight after which the airline quarantined its entire crew for 14 days.

The Centre had last week announced that one-third of domestic flights would start in the country from Monday. However, international flights will be closed for now.

Many states do not agree with the decision to start domestic flights from the Centre as cases of coronavirus are on the rise in the country. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said that they need more time for this. Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, has the highest number of corona positive cases in the country.
