Announcing the accolade on Thursday, state government officials proudly revealed that Indore clinched an impressive score of 187 out of 200 in the Clean Air Survey-2023, outperforming other cities with comparable population sizes. In the survey standings, Agra secured the second position with a score of 186 points, closely followed by Thane at the third position with 185.2 points. The rankings, meticulously evaluated by the CPCB, were based on comprehensive assessments of self-evaluation reports and associated documentation submitted through the 'Prana' portal. A total of 130 cities, spanning various population brackets, were considered in the evaluation process.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava of Indore expressed his joy over the city's remarkable feat in the clean air survey. He highlighted the collective efforts taken to mitigate air pollution, including the deployment of specialized vehicles equipped with sweeping machines to cleanse the city's bustling streets. These machines effectively collect dust particles, ensuring a cleaner urban environment.

Mayor Bhargava emphasized the city's initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices, such as the encouragement of green fuel stoves while regulating the use of coal and wood-burning stoves. These proactive measures reflect Indore's commitment to fostering an environment that prioritizes both the well-being of its residents and the preservation of nature.
