On Monday, the protesting wrestlers threatened to approach the Supreme Court if an FIR was not registered against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The Sports Ministry has put on hold the federation's elections to be held on May 7 and asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to form an ad hoc committee to conduct the elections. On January 23, the government constituted a 6-member committee to investigate the matter of sexual harassment and intimidation against the President of the Wrestling Federation of India. The committee had submitted its inquiry report on April 5 but the government has not yet made it public.
