Chandigarh: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has honored the Punjab Police for their exceptional service by announcing the recipients of the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS) on the eve of the 76th Republic Day.
Among the notable awardees are Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Intelligence RK Jaiswal and ADGP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Nilabh Kishore, who will receive the prestigious PMDS for their distinguished contributions.
In addition, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ludhiana Range Dhanpreet Kaur and Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Financial Intelligence Unit Tejinderjit Singh are among 15 officers and officials chosen for the MMS.
The other recipients of the MMS include:

- Inspector Amrik Singh
- Inspector Jagroop Singh
- Inspector Balwinder Singh
- Sub-Inspectors (SI) Balbir Chand, Iqbal Singh, Satish Kumar, Balvir Chand, Lakhvir Singh, Dimple Kumar, Harvinder Kumar
- Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) Sukhbir Singh, Harpal Singh
Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav congratulated the awardees and expressed his appreciation to both the Central and State Governments for acknowledging the dedication of the Punjab Police.
“This recognition is not just an honor for the awardees but a morale booster for the entire Punjab Police force,” DGP Yadav said. He added that such accolades inspire greater commitment and devotion to duty, especially in a border state like Punjab, which faces unique security challenges.
