Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to intervene during the discussion, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will respond on behalf of the government, according to ANI.

The government has agreed to hold a 16-hour debate in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor early next week, reported PTI.

The Rajya Sabha will begin the discussion after it commences in the Lok Sabha.

These decisions were taken at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meetings held on July 21 and 23, as per The Indian Express.

Operation Sindoor, a strategic military offensive targeting terror facilities in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and across the Pakistan border, was launched on May 7. The operation followed the April 22 terror attack that claimed 26 lives and led to a war-like situation between the two nations.

The Opposition is demanding answers on why the US President continues to claim credit for brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, despite India’s repeated denials. They are also questioning why the hostilities ceased so abruptly.
