Economic survey 2023-24 ahead of Budget 2024: The Union Government on Monday presented the Economic survey 2023-24 in the house of Parliament. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the pre-budget in Parliament,  a day ahead of the full budget presentation of 2024-2025 which will be presented on July 23. 

The chief economic adviser Anantha Nageswaran addressed media after the presentation. 

What is Economic Survey? 

The economic survey document, prepared by the economic division of the department of economics affair in the Ministry of finance and formulated under the supervision of the chief economic adviser. 

For 2024-2025 Budget, the document of economic survey may also give some idea about the tone and texture. 

Let's talk about first economic survey, which came into existence in 1950-51, when it used to be a part the budget documents. In 1960, it seperated from the the union budget. 

Now all eyes will be on finance minister and the Union government as to know what is there in this year's budget.
