Kolkata doctor rape-murder case latest news today: In a major development in the horrific case of Kolkata's doctor rape and murder case, the Supreme Court on Tuesday constituted a National Task Force which has to submit an interim report within 3 weeks.
The Supreme Court said, "National Task Force shall look into safety and other issues and consider preparing action plan relating to prevent gender-based violence, dignified working space for interns, resident, non-resident doctors. SC asks CBI to file a report on the status of the investigation in the rape case. SC asks West Bengal to file a status report on the mob attack incidents in the hospitals."

The National Task Force Includes:
- Surgeon Vice Admiral RK Sarian;
- Dr Reddy, Mangaing Director Asian Institute of National Gastrology;
- Dr M Srivas, Director AIIMS, Delhi;
- Dr Prathima Moorthy, NIMHANS, Bangalore
- Dr Puri, Director, AIIMs, Jodhpur;
- Dr Ravat, Managing member of Gangaram Hospital;
- Prof Anita Saxena, VC of Pandit BD Sharma College
- Dr Pallavi
- Dr Padma Srivastav
The following shall be the ex-officio members of the NTF:
- the cabinet secretary to the GOI;
- the home secretary of GOI;
- secretary of ministry of family welfare
- chairperson of the National Medical commission and
- President of the National Board of Examiners
The CJI also stated, "We want CBI to file a status report on Thursday. We want CBI to apprise us of the status of the investigation."
SC directed that the NTF shall make actions plans on two heads -
(1) preventing violence including gender based violence against medical professionals
(a) ensuring safety in the hospital;
(b) infrastructural development;
(C) employment of social welfare workers trained in grief and crisis counselling;
(d) workshops on handling grief and crisis
(2) providing an enforceable national protocol for dignified and safe working conditions for interns, residents, senior residents, doctors etc
(a) Prevention Sexual Harassment Against Women At Workplace Act applies to hospitals and nursing homes, including private healthcare providers as per the Ac
(b) duties of employer under POSH Act has to be followed and discharged;
(c) there shall be helpline number for medical professionals t an internal complaints committee must at all hospitals;
