Family Die by Suicide in Ahmedabad’s Bagodara, Gujurat Latest News – In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded late at night in Bagodara village, located in Bavla taluka of Ahmedabad district, five members of a single family allegedly died by suicide after consuming a poisonous substance. According to a report by Bhaskar English, the tragic event took place in a rented house near the Bagodara bus station.
The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Vipul Kanjibhai Vaghela, his wife Sonal Vipulbhai Vaghela (26), and their three children—Karina alias Simran (11), Mayur (8), and Princy (5). The family, belonging to the Devipujak community, originally hailed from the Barkota area in Dholka and had been residing in Bagodara to earn a livelihood. Vipulbhai was working as an auto-rickshaw driver to support his family, according to the report.
According to initial investigations, the incident occurred shortly before 1:30 AM on July 20. All five members are believed to have consumed poison during the night and were found dead the following morning. The circumstances suggest a coordinated act of mass suicide, although the motive remains unknown.

Senior officials from Ahmedabad Rural Police, including the SP, Dhandhuka Division ASP, LCB PI, SOG PI, and forensic experts from the FSL also reached the scene to begin a thorough investigation. Authorities inspected the house and issued necessary directives to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
As of now, no suicide note has been recovered, and police have not determined any concrete reason behind the extreme step taken by the family. The bodies have been sent to Bagodara Community Health Center for post-mortem examinations.
A detailed probe is underway to uncover the real cause of the incident. It remains to see whether any external pressure or distressing factor contributed to this tragedy.
