Delhi Air Pollution Quality Latest News Today: The Union Health Secretary issued an advisory on Monday to states and union territories to tackle the growing health risks posed by air pollution. The advisory emphasizes the need to strengthen existing health systems and raise awareness among vulnerable populations and high-risk occupations.  

Focus on Health Systems and Monitoring  

The advisory outlines strategies at the district and city levels to mitigate the health impacts of climate change and air pollution. It also recommends expanding the network of hospitals to monitor air pollution-related illnesses, ensuring effective response and surveillance within each state or union territory.

Delhi's Air Quality Latest News

Delhi's air quality continues to deteriorate, prompting the implementation of Grade 4 restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). As a result, schools in the state, except for classes 10 and 12, have shifted to online learning. Additionally, Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University have also transitioned to online classes, effective until November 25 and November 22, 2024, respectively.  

Delhi Air Pollution Quality Latest News Today: Government Offices Adjust Timings  

In response to the pollution crisis, the timings of government offices in Delhi have been modified. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices will now operate from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, while Delhi government offices will function from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.  

Delhi Air Pollution Quality Latest News Today: Restrictions 

Grade 4 restrictions, in effect since November 18, include a ban on diesel generators and construction activities. Schools are required to conduct online classes up to Class IX, and further measures aim to curb activities contributing to air pollution.

Delhi Weather Alerts and Health Advisory  

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog in Delhi on November 19 and a yellow alert for the following two days. Residents, particularly children, elderly individuals, and those with heart or respiratory conditions, have been advised to avoid outdoor activities to minimize health risks.  

The central and state governments remain committed to addressing the severe pollution crisis and protecting public health through coordinated efforts and stringent measures.
