Demanding immediate withdrawal of the orders externing the head of Sri Peetham of Kakinada Swami Paripoornananda from Hyderabad city, members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal today staged road blockades at a few places here. Holding placards and raising slogans, the protesters squatted on roads, even as the police intervened and took them away for disturbing vehicular movement.

The Telangana government's order to extern Swami Paripoornananda is an insult to Hindu samaj, they alleged and wanted this "anti-Hindu practises" to end immediately. Swami Paripoornananda was externed on July 10 from the city for six months for allegedly making provocative speeches targeting other communities and their leaders. VHP Telangana state president Rama Raju had said yesterday they would also organise a convention of seers soon if the orders were not withdrawn.
