PM Modi Speaks To Prime Minister Sushila Karki Of Interim Government Of Nepal Latest News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Sushila Karki, Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal. He conveyed condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives.

PM Modi also reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for Sushila Karki's efforts to restore peace and stability in the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X, said, “Had a warm conversation with Mrs. Sushila Karki, Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal. Conveyed heartfelt condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives and reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for her efforts to restore peace and stability.”

“Also, I extended warm greetings to her and the people of Nepal on their National Day tomorrow,” PM Modi added. 

73-year-old Sushila Karki was appointed to the role in September 2025 following widespread youth-led "Gen Z" protests against political corruption. She previously served as the first female Chief Justice of Nepal from 2016 to 2017.
