New Delhi: The world's largest lockdown in India has been extended for another 14 days. This is the fourth phase of the lockdown which has started from today i.e. May 18 and will end on May 31.
On the whole issue, PVR Chairman and MD Ajay Bijli said that shopping malls could open around June 15. Approval may also be given to open a cinema hall after 1-2 weeks.
Photo Shopping malls and cinema halls are closed at all places in the country after the end of March.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) directed the Central Government and the states to continue construction. After this the Home Department brought new guidelines.
Cinema halls, shopping malls, gyms, swimming pools, amusement parks, theaters, auditoriums and assembly halls will be closed. Ajay Bijli further said that some changes can be made for seating in the cinema hall.
PhotoFor example, family and group will be brought together. Some distance will be kept for other people to sit. Movies can be released soon after the lockdown. Releasing a film on the OTT platform is not an easy task for everyone.
Earlier, on May 15, PVR had issued a statement regarding the release of films on online platforms. The statement urged the filmmakers to suspend the release of their films till theaters reopen.
