Two women Naxalites killed in encounter with police in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, Latest News: Neelotpal, SP Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, stated that an encounter in the forest adjoining Modaske Village led to the recovery of two female Maoist bodies, according to ANI.
An operation under Additional SP Aheri Satya Sai Karthik, along with 5 C60 units, was launched from Aheri upon receiving information that a few members of Gatta LOS were camping in the forest adjoining Modaske Village under PS Gatta Jambhiya in Etapalli Taluka.
The Gatta Jambhiya Post party and CRPF E Coy 191 Battalion assisted the operation team in laying the outer cordon, the SP said.
When the C60 contingent was searching the jungle area, they came under indiscriminate fire from the Maoists, which was effectively retaliated against by the security forces.
The area search of the jungle led to the recovery of two female Maoist bodies, and the security forces also recovered an automatic AK-47 rifle, a sophisticated pistol, live ammunition, a large amount of literature, and belongings.
