How to Apply for PM Internship Scheme 2024 and what are its eligibility criteria and application procedure? In the Union Budget 2024-2025, the Indian government introduced the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS), aimed at providing young Indians with valuable hands-on experience in the corporate sector. Over the next five years, the scheme targets placing one crore young individuals in internships across the top 500 companies in India. A pilot phase, set to launch in the 2024-2025 financial year, aims to offer 1.25 lakh internship opportunities to qualified students as the initial step toward full-scale implementation.
The PM Internship Scheme bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world work environments. These 12-month internships are designed to enhance the employability of participants across a wide range of sectors.
Participating companies for the pilot phase are selected based on their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure over the last three years. While participation is voluntary, the list of companies will be made available on the PM Internship Scheme Portal.
