The Delhi Assembly elections are expected to be held in early 2025.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar announced on Wednesday that the party will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections independently, without forming alliances.
In an interview with ANI, Kakkar stated, "We will contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone. On one side, there's the overconfident Congress, and on the other, the arrogant Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). We'll keep our heads down and let the work we've done over the past 10 years speak for itself."
The Delhi Assembly elections are expected to be held in early 2025. In the 2020 elections, AAP secured a dominant victory, winning 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed to secure eight.
Earlier, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the importance of hard work in the upcoming elections. Reflecting on recent election results in Haryana, Kejriwal highlighted that overconfidence should be avoided at all costs.
"With elections approaching, we must not take anything lightly. The biggest lesson from today's results is to never be overconfident. Every election and every seat is tough," Kejriwal told AAP's municipal councillors in Delhi on Tuesday, urging them to focus on unity and the upcoming assembly polls.
Kejriwal's message was clear: there should be no internal conflicts as the party prepares for what is expected to be a highly contested election.
