A major cattle smuggling bid was foiled with the arrest of four persons and rescue of 210 animals in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police official said today. Four separate groups were taking these animals without permission towards Srinagar by foot and were intercepted at Jakheni on Jammu-Srinagar national highway last evening, the official said. He said the animals were rescued and heads of all the four groups hailing from R S Pura area of Jammu were arrested and separate cases under relevant sections of law registered against them.
