A truck driver has been arrested on the charge of smuggling bovines from Udhampur district to Kashmir, the police said today.  Acting on a tip-off regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a checkpoint was set up on the highway near Tikri, in Udhampur, a police officer said. The truck was intercepted last night and during a search, six bovines were found loaded in the vehicle, he said, adding the driver, Murad Ali, was arrested on the spot. All the six bovines were rescued and the vehicle was impounded, he said.
