Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

Despite the snowfall, no major weather warnings have been issued for Jammu and Kashmir until October 10. The region is expected to remain mostly dry over the next ten days. Independent weather forecasters predict that October 7 and 8 will see minimal precipitation, with only a slight chance of brief showers in isolated areas. From October 9 to 10, dry conditions are likely to persist, with a 50% chance of brief rain spells in some locations.

Looking ahead to October 10-14, dry weather is expected to continue, keeping conditions stable for residents and visitors alike.

IMD's Winter Outlook

Earlier this month, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that India may face a harsher winter, with La Niña conditions expected to develop by October-November. La Niña could potentially lead to severe cold waves, particularly in northern and central India. IMD chief Mrutyunjay Mohapatra indicated a 71% chance of La Niña developing, which could bring colder-than-usual temperatures to northern regions, including Jammu and Kashmir.
