SROs will decide on the framework to allow Online Games: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

NEW-DELHI: The Information and Broadcasting (IB) Ministry will soon set up a unit to curb misinformation about the government on the Internet. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar shared the information on Thursday.

While issuing the final guidelines for online gaming, the Union Minister said that the final rules are being worked on. Chandrasekhar said, “The government has decided to notify a unit through the Ministry of Electronics and IT. This entity will fact-check all information posted on online forums.

Talking about the rules for online gaming, the minister said that there will be several Self Regulatory Organizations (SROs) which will decide on the framework to allow online games.
