Air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the 'Severe' category.

Stubble Burning News Today: While the pollution in the national capital has been rising, people in Delhi have been struggling to breathe fresh air. In the meanwhile, the same 'blame-game' is being played which is played every year where Haryana and Delhi blame Punjab for the pollution while Punjab blames Haryana for the same. 

However, the recent statement by Delhi's Enviorment Minister Gopal Rai has sparked a row as he stated that the stubble burning in Punjab is not responsible for the pollution in Delhi. He said that smoke coming from farm fires in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh has major impact in the national capital. 

Gopal Rai stated that the figures of the Central government show that less stubble has been burned in Punjab this year, in comparison to the last year and that Punjab's stubble burning does not have as much impact on Delhi as that of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. 

He added that this is also because of no movement in the wind. "Only if the wind blows, the smoke of Punjab will reach Delhi," he said, adding that there is smoke all around Delhi and that the pollution from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh is reaching Delhi. 

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the 'Severe' category. Also, Delhi remains to be on the top in the list of world's polluted cities. 

Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday held a high-level meeting amid the rising pollution levels in the national capital.
