New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday appointed state presidents of several states. The party has appointed Adesh Kumar Gupta as Delhi BJP president in place of Manoj Tiwari. Adesh Gupta is a former mayor of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
Manoj TiwariIt may be recalled that Manoj Tiwari was appointed Delhi BJP president in 2016. According to the sources, he had offered to resign immediately after Delhi's defeat but was asked to continue until an alternative was found.
After retiring from the post of party president, Manoj Tewari tweeted, "I would like to thank all the workers and the people of Delhi for the love and support they have given during 3.6 years as BJP state president." Sorry for any inconvenience. Congratulations to the new state president Adesh Gupta.
Adesh Gupta has experience as a councilor and mayor of North Delhi. This means that his experience in Delhi politics is quite low. However, Adesh Gupta is not a popular face like Manoj Tiwari.
Manoj TiwariAdesh Gupta hails from Uttar Pradesh. After completing his college education, he came to Delhi. Initially, he made a living by tutoring here. He also started a business. Meanwhile, his interest in politics continued.
In 2017, he got a ticket in the MCD elections and won. He was later made the mayor of North Delhi.
