Flash Floods Wreak Havoc in Himachal Pradesh's Gambhar Pul Area

Authorities swiftly initiated relief and rescue operations, deploying teams to aid stranded residents and restore essential services.

Himachal Pradesh Flash Flood, Solan Cloudburst and Weather Update News Today: Heavy premonsoon rains wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, particularly devastating the Gambhar Pul area in Solan district. The torrential downpours led to flash floods, inundating large areas and severely disrupting daily life.

The Meteorological Department reported significant rainfall across the state, with Shimla recording 78 mm, Dharamshala 65 mm, and Solan town itself receiving 72 mm of rain. These figures exacerbated the flood situation in Gambhar, causing local rivers and streams to swell suddenly and submerge homes, agricultural fields, and roads.

Residents faced immense challenges as rising waters disrupted electricity and water supply, halting local transportation temporarily. Temperature variations were notable, with Shimla at 24°C, Dharamshala slightly higher at 27°C, and Solan reaching 26°C amidst the crisis.

Authorities swiftly initiated relief and rescue operations, deploying teams to aid stranded residents and restore essential services. The state disaster management team collaborated closely with local authorities to assess damages and provide immediate support.

Meteorologists issued warnings for more rainfall in the coming days, urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. Both tourists and locals were advised to avoid landslide and flood-prone areas.
