Heavy rains causing flash floods in Himachal Pradesh. 

Himachal Weather Update Latest News Today, IMD Prediction This Week: While the initial days of July witnessed a light spell of rain, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert in the state. People have been worried after a few areas witnessed heavy rains causing flash floods in Himachal Pradesh. 

On July 16, there was a green alert in all districts of Himachal Pradesh, which means no alert of heavy rain was issued by IMD, 

Likewise, the IMD stated that there was no warning of rain in Lahul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur on July 17, while other districts Chamba, Kangra, Solan, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, and Sirmaur had yellow alert issued on July 17.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert was issued in Himachal Pradesh from July 18 and 20 except in Lahul and Spiti, and Kinnaur, where the IMD issued no alert. 
 
It may be recalled that Himachal Pradesh, last year, witnessed havoc wreaked out of heavy rains. The heavy rains had led to the situation which turned out to be disastrous for the state.
