Nowcast, Himachal Weather Update August 7: The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, has issued orange and yellow alerts for the entire Himachal Pradesh, predicting moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

Orange Alert: The districts under the orange alert in the nowcast are Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Mandi, Hamirpur, Una, Bilaaspur, Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur. The state IMD has predicted moderate rainfall with maximum surface wind with speed between 41-61 kmph in gusts, in the Nowcast as per the latest Updates. The nowcast is valid until midnight.

Yellow Alert: Meanwhile, two districts, Kinnaur and Lahul and Spiti, have been placed under a yellow alert warning of moderate rain with a rainfall between 5-15mm per hour. The NowCast for the yellow is valid until 9 PM tonight.  

Himachal Weather Forecast for Today, August 7:
In its forecast, the India Meteorological Department, Shimla, has placed four districts, Mandi, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur in the state under an orange alert, predicting heavy rain.
No weather alerts have been issued for the remaining districts in the state in the forecast.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Observed in the past 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, as reported at 8:30 in the morning today, the lowest minimum temperature in the state of 11.4 °C was recorded in Keylong.

On the weather forecast, Senior IMD scientist, Sandeep Kumar Sharma says, "There is a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain in Una, Kangra, Sirmaur, Mandi for tomorrow.”

“On 10th August, rainfall activity will pick up in Una, Kangra, Sirmaur, Mandi, and Bilaspur. Rainfall activity over the entire state is expected on 11th-12th August..." he added, speaking to ANI.
