Meanwhile, the SDRF team has reached the spot for a search and rescue operation. Reportedly, a cloudburst occurred in Samej Khad of the Rampur areas in Shimla amid torrential rainfall in the region.
A team of officials from the Rampur sub-divisional administration, NDRF, SDRF, CISF, and home guards have been involved in the rescue operation, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said.
Notably, heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have increased the water level in the Beas River.
Besides, the Manikaran Sahib in Kullu's Kasol also witnessed a flash flood-like situation wherein the water level is at its peak, causing concern for the people in the area. It is pertinent to mention that the India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh.
