Former DGP Muhammad Mustafa Accused of Son’s Murder & “Illicit Affair,” Warns Complainant to Face Law: Former DGP Muhammad Mustafa, accused of having an “illicit relationship” with his daughter-in-law and of involvement in the murder of his own son, has issued a statement saying, “those who have filed a false and baseless FIR should be prepared to face the law themselves.”
Following the death of Akil Akhtar, the only son of former Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana and former DGP Muhammad Mustafa, on Thursday (October 16), Haryana’s Panchkula Police registered a case against the family based on a complaint by an individual with “malicious intent and petty political motives.”
According to reports, the person who lodged the FIR has been identified as Shamsuddin, who has made serious allegations claiming that Aqeel’s wife and father had an “illicit relationship,” in which Razia Sultana was also allegedly involved.
In this regard, former DGP Muhammad Mustafa, on Tuesday, issued a statement saying that as per the law and police regulations, it is the duty of the police to register an FIR upon receiving a written complaint. The Panchkula Police have fulfilled this duty, and he welcomes their action.
Mustafa has further clarified that the registration of an FIR does not mean that anyone's guilt has been proven. “The real investigation will now begin following the FIR, and within a few days, the truth will come to light, separating fact from fiction.”
He appealed to the residents of Malerkotla and his well-wishers across Punjab not to worry even slightly about the FIR. He acknowledged that the family is “deeply grieved” by the tragic loss of their young son, and despite that, the family has confronted the alleged “vile actions of those with malicious politics and cheap mindsets.”
He added that it will soon become “clear which way the law will proceed.” Mustafa also stated that those who have filed a false and baseless FIR should be prepared to face the law themselves.
