Parts of Punjab and Chandigarh received light showers early Friday evening, providing some respite from the day’s heat and making the evening pleasant with lightning and thunder.

High-speed winds also swept across the region.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius on Friday, while Bathinda reported the highest in the state at 42.6 degrees Celsius.

According to AccuWeather, the forecast for Saturday in Chandigarh predicts cloudy skies with maximum and minimum temperatures of 41 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
