Chandigarh Administrative Advisor Post Latest News Today: In a significant overhaul of Chandigarh's administrative framework, the post of Advisor has been abolished, and the Chief Secretary has been given a more prominent role in governance. This restructuring aims to enhance efficiency and streamline decision-making within the Union Territory.

Key Highlights of the New Structure

Under the revised setup, the number of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in Chandigarh has been increased to bolster administrative capabilities. The revamped framework includes 11 key positions, which are:

  4. Secretary, Town Planning (Smart City)
  5. Deputy Commissioner (District)

  8. Secretary
  9. Additional Secretary
  10. Additional Deputy Commissioner

Objective of the Changes

The decision to abolish the Advisor's post and increase the number of IAS officers aims to improve the efficiency of the Chandigarh Administration and ensure better service delivery. The Chief Secretary’s enhanced role is expected to bring a cohesive approach to governance, addressing public concerns more effectively and expediting developmental projects.
