Meesho has revealed plans to generate around job opportunities within its vendor and logistics network

Meesho, a prominent e-commerce platform, is set to create approximately 5 lakh seasonal job opportunities within its extensive vendor and logistics network, anticipating a surge in demand during the forthcoming festive season. This substantial increase reflects a 50 percent upsurge in seasonal employment compared to Meesho's offerings during the same period last year.

In a concerted effort to support this initiative, Meesho has formed strategic partnerships with key third-party logistics players, including Ecom Express, DTDC, Elastic Run, Loadshare, Delhivery, Shadowfax, and Express Biz. These partnerships are expected to facilitate around 2 lakh job openings, with over 60 percent of these opportunities emerging in Tier-3 and Tier-4 regions.

The majority of the positions will encompass roles like first-mile and delivery associates, responsible for critical functions such as delivery operations, sorting, loading, unloading, and return inspections. Saurabh Pandey, Chief Experience Officer at Meesho, expressed anticipation of a substantial surge in demand during the festive season, underlining the need to augment their operational workforce accordingly.

Saurabh Pandey highlighted the anticipation of a significant surge in demand during the festive season. He emphasized that the creation of these job opportunities is intricately tied to enhancing overall customer experience during the festive season while empowering numerous small-scale businesses. Furthermore, Meesho's vendors are expected to independently hire an additional 3 lakh seasonal workers to cater to the escalating demands during this festive period.
