Former Punjab Police DGP Sumedh Saini, who was booked in connection with the 1991 abduction of Balwant Singh Multani, son of an IAS officer
Mohali: Former Punjab Police DGP Sumedh Saini, who was booked in connection with the 1991 abduction of Balwant Singh Multani, son of an IAS officer, filed an anticipatory bail application in the Additional District Sessions Judge's Court in Mohali today.
Sumedh Singh SainiThe court will now pronounce its verdict on Monday. A case was registered against Sumedh Singh Saini at Mataur police station in connection with the abduction of Balwant Singh Multani by the Punjab police 29 years ago.
It may be recalled that Punjab Police has registered a case against former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in connection with the disappearance of Balwant Singh Multani in 1991.
Case registeredSumedh Saini was the senior police officer of Chandigarh at that time. Balwant Singh Multani was picked up by two officers after a terrorist attack on Sumedh Saini in Chandigarh in which four policemen were killed in his custody.
