New WhatsApp Feature Enhances Privacy, Blocking Location Tracing During Calls

WhatsApp New Feature News: WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, has introduced a new feature aimed at enhancing user privacy by preventing location tracing during calls. The 'Protect IP Address in Calls' feature, accessible within the Settings menu, aims to shield user locations while on calls. It addresses potential risks of revealing one's location through IP addresses during peer-to-peer connections in WhatsApp calls.

The innovative feature reroutes WhatsApp calls through the company's servers, ensuring that the caller's location remains hidden, a move designed to fortify user privacy and deter any potential exploitation.

To activate the 'Protect IP Address in Calls' feature, users need to navigate to WhatsApp Settings, access the Privacy section, and further select the Advanced options. Enabling this setting, however, might cause slight delays or impact call quality.

Importantly, despite this added layer of protection, the end-to-end encryption of WhatsApp calls remains intact, assuring users that their conversations remain private and inaccessible to the company.

Previously, WhatsApp rolled out the 'Silence Unknown Calls' feature, muting incoming calls from unfamiliar numbers, effectively protecting users from potential scams and unwanted disruptions. This feature has been instrumental in shielding users from fraudulent calls, aligning with the company's commitment to user security and privacy.
