Orange alert in 17 districts of Punjab! Yellow alert in the remaining 5 districts

Punjab Weather Update: The weather in Punjab has started to deteriorate again as a fresh Western Disturbance has become active once again. Due to this, an orange alert has been issued today in 17 districts of Punjab — Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Moga, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.

On the other hand, a yellow alert has been issued in the remaining 5 districts of Punjab — Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa. There is a possibility of rain and hail with strong winds besides the temperature is also expected to fall. In the meanwhile, it has been reported that Amritsar witnessed rainfall during the morning hours.

According to the India Meteorological Department, North India, including Punjab, will experience rainfall due to a Western Disturbance for the next two days. This might bring rain and hail, leading to a drop in temperatures. Himachal Pradesh's rain and snowfall will also contribute to colder weather in Punjab.

In Amritsar, the weather will be cloudy and temperature will range from 14 to 22 degrees Celsius. Jalandhar may also see rain, with temperature ranging from 11 to 23 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana's temperature can also range from 12 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Mohali is also expected to have cloudy weather with a chance of rain while the temperature will be between 13 to 23 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh may also experience rainfall with temperature ranging from 12 to 24 degrees Celsius.
