India Engages with U.S. to Ensure Fair Treatment of Deported Citizens - S jaishankar latest news: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced on Thursday that the Indian government is actively engaging with the US to ensure that deported Indians are treated fairly. This statement was made amid opposition protests regarding the treatment of 104 Indians who were recently deported from the United States.

During his address in the Rajya Sabha, Jaishankar focus attention on the necessity of a strong silence on the illegal migration industry while ensuring that returning deportees are treated accurately. He encourage that the standard operating procedures for deportation, including the use of self control, have been in place since 2012 and that women and children are not self controled during the process.

The minister also pointed out that the needs of deportees, such as food and medical emergencies, are addressed during change. He added that there has been no change in the procedures for the recent flight that carried the deportees.

A US military aircraft carrying 104 Indian immigrants landed in Amritsar on Wednesday, marking the first such deportation by the Trump administration as part of a crackdown on illegal immigrants. The deportees reported that their hands and legs were cuffed throughout the journey and that they were unbound only after landing in Amritsar.

Jaishankar's statement highlights the importance of international cooperation and the need to handle the challenges faced by those involved in the illegal migration industry.
