Out of nine, seven critically injured persons have been referred to Government Medical College, Jammu, for specialised treatment, as the area lacks proper healthcare facility.
The police said a taxi on its way from Doda to the Chirala area skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Puneja. “The vehicle was overloaded and was carrying 15 persons besides the driver. Six people died on the spot, including the driver, whereas nine passengers have received multiple injuries,” the police said.
The deceased were driver Om Prakash, Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Fazal Din of Chirala area, Punjab Singh of Bonjwah, Rajeshwar Singh of Assar and Abdul Rashid of Gandoh.
