Sonepat : Two motorcycle-borne armed youths today looted about Rs 4 lakh from a cash collection van of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) at a toll plaza of the MCD near Ochandi border between Delhi and Haryana.

Sonepat : Two motorcycle-borne armed youths today looted about Rs 4 lakh from a cash collection van of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) at a toll plaza of the MCD near Ochandi border between Delhi and Haryana.

According to information, MCD employees in a van had come to the toll plaza this morning. When the cash was being collected, two armed youths on a bike reached there and started firing indiscriminately. Van guard Dilgbag was injured in the firing while the armed youths looted the cash and fled. Injured Dilbag was admitted to Saroj hospital where his condition was stated to be serious. Police personnel from Delhi and Sonepat reached the spot. After some discussions, it was finalised that the area of incident was in Sonepat territory.

Jitender Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Sonepat police, said the toll plaza was being run by the MCD on Ochandi border between Delhi and Sonepat in Haryana. The Kharkhoda police have registered a case.
