Hisar: A woman and her daughter were among three persons killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a jeep near village Ugalan, police said today. They said the accident occurred about 50 km from here on the Jind-Bhiwani road yesterday evening. The deceased and the injured were stated to be the members of a family.

Police said the family of Ram Mehar of Roshan Khera village had gone to Kurar village in Kaithal district to mourn the death of their relative. When they were returning, their jeep was involved in a collision with a truck coming from the opposite direction killing Manisha (24), wife of Ram Mehar and their daughter Lakshita (3) and driver Dinesh. The injured had been referred to PGIMS at Rohtak, police said, adding a case has been registered in connection with the accident. PTI
