
Yamunanagar: Several teams of Chief Minister’s flying squad conducted raids at various places in Yamunanagar district today and recovered urea from ply-board factories. An unauthorised godown of fertilizers was sealed and several overloaded vehicles were also challaned during the raids.
Yamunanagar: Several teams of Chief Minister’s flying squad conducted raids at various places in Yamunanagar district today and recovered urea from ply-board factories. An unauthorised godown of fertilizers was sealed and several overloaded vehicles were also challaned during the raids.
The teams were led by DSP (Ambala) Gurmail Singh, Surinder Rana, CID in charge, Yamunanagar, and inspector Mahavir Singh. According to information, the teams raided two ply-board manufacturing factories on Shadipur Road and seized 35 bags of subsidised urea to be used in making glue. Surinder Rana said cases had been registered against the owners of the ply-board factories.
Sources said that subsidised urea used in the plywood industry cost Rs 284 per bag whereas the price of the technical grade urea was Rs 1,248 per bag. The factories cannot use agriculture grade urea as the government provided subsidy on it. According to information, the teams had challaned 18 vehicles for overloading. The teams also sealed an unauthorised godown of fertilizers in Yamunanagar, impounded two maxi cabs plying without documents and recovered six LPG cylinders being sold illegally. The teams also raided three places where petrol and diesel were being sold illegally. An illicit liquor vend was also sealed near Mazhaidpur village.
